Dr. Baez is a compassionate and dedicated physician with eighteen years of experience who specializes in Adult Psychiatry. She believes in empowering the human soul and applying evidence-based medicine to make effective and long-lasting changes in patients’ lives. Dr. Baez is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction and has a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry. She is bilingual as well, speaking English and Spanish fluently.
Dr. Baez received her medical doctorate degree (M.D.) from the Dominican Republic in 1990. She completed her Psychiatric Residency Training at Wake Forest University, Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and then a fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at the University of Miami.
She is a Medical Review Officer (MRO) and has qualifications as a Substance Abuse Professional for the Department of Transportation (DOT).
Dr. Baez has been in private practice in the State of Florida since 1999. She served as Medical Director for the Outpatient Behavioral Health Department of the Memorial Healthcare System and was a Consultant Psychiatrist for the Department of Health (DOH), the Intervention Project for Nurses (IPN), and the Physician Resource Network (PRN).
Her interest in telemedicine started while she was completing her fellowship in the late 1990s. It was not until 2013 that she began gradually transitioning her practice fully to telepsychiatry.
She is passionate about empowering her patients on a path of recovery, not only with psychopharmacological interventions but also through psychotherapeutic and holistic approaches.
