Psychiatric Evaluations and Medication Management ~ Dr. Priti Patel, M.D. Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist. (I'm not a geriatric psychiatrist but welcome patients of all ages if they are okay with remote visits) (ONLY TAKES BCBS, MEDICARE AND CASH)
Hello! I am proud to be an Arizona native as I was born and raised in Tucson, attended U of A, (Go Wildcats!) obtaining a dual degree in physiology and psychology in 2009. I decided to practice in the field of psychiatry upon discovering the profound impact mental health has on a person's well-being, affecting their life and the lives of everyone around them, especially loved ones. My love of travel and emulsifying myself into various cultures led me to enter medical school at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, and then onto the global scholars track at Northumbria University in Newcastle, England. Coming back to the United States I settled in New York City for my medical student rotations and then onto my residency program at the University of Kentucky where I realized that I enjoy working with both adults and children, encouraging me to stay for their fellowship in child and adolescent psychology. I feel it's important to spend the time educating people on the wide variety of psychopharmacological and mental health treatment options. I understand it can be difficult to find time to attend visits, fight traffic, find parking, etc. so I've decided to provide care via tele-visits on hours that work for YOUR schedule, offering weekend and evening openings.
Counseling ~ Renée Walden-Shea, M.Ed, BHT, ITMHC, RYT 200
My name is Renée Walden-Shea and I have been a professional counselor since 2003 when I found my purpose working with children and families through a community mental health center in Prescott, AZ. I have a Master's of Education, Counseling and Human Relations from Northern Arizona University (2003), Certification in Mental Health Counseling, Ottawa University, (2005), and a Certification in Infant Toddler Mental Health studies (2006). I also am a Registered Yoga Instructor, 200 hrs (2017) with a focus on incorporating these benefits therapeutically on mindfulness and meditation to increase self-awareness. Our yoga, hiking, and meditation groups are held outdoors, weather permitting. I believe that counseling is a collaborative effort between the counselor and client. I will help you identify goals and potential solutions to problems that cause emotional turmoil; seek to improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem, promote behavior change and optimal mental health. Counseling is a relationship that empowers individuals, families, and groups to mental health, wellness, education, and career goals. I will work with you on strategies to overcome obstacles and personal challenges that you have been facing.
Counseling ~ Amanda Carswell, M. Ed., LAC, NCC. Virtual appointments only.
Hello! My name is Amanda Carswell and I’m honored to go on your therapeutic journey with you. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2009 from Northern Illinois University and my Master’s of Education in Counseling, with an emphasis on School Counseling, from Western Illinois University in 2013. I have been a school based counselor in Arizona for 9 years. I am experienced in working with teens, young adults, parents, educators, and underserved populations. I also have extensive knowledge on the educational systems and can provide academic, college, and career counseling. In my career, I have taken the role of therapist, advocate, mediator, behavioral support, educator, and group facilitator. I specialize in understanding the unique struggles our younger generations experience and school related anxieties. My counseling approach is very client-centered with a deep foundation in existentialism. This means that I believe you already possess the qualities you need to flourish and with unconditional positive regard I will help you navigate barriers that are inhibiting you from reaching your highest self. I am deeply passionate about your unique human experience and aim to help you make meaning of your life so that you may experience a greater sense of well-being and peace. In a deeply empathetic, supportive, and sometimes humorative, manner, I use a variety of counseling techniques that will facilitate your therapeutic journey. I will challenge you to look at life from a different perspective, incorporate healthy habits in your treatment journey, and try new things so we can discover what works for you in reaching and maintaining your goals from a holistic lense. Ready to take the leap?
Psychiatric Evaluations and Medication Management ~ Amanda Martin - Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified (PMHNP-BC). Virtual appointments only.
Though I was not born and raised in Arizona I have come to love the old pueblo and all it has to offer. I received my associate degree in nursing in Tucson and practiced as a psychiatric nurse. I have really enjoyed this specialty and have over twenty-five years of leadership experience working in the behavioral health community. My passion for this population drew me to further my education and I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Walden University. I continued my education and received a Master of Science in Nurse Practitioner studies and became a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I pride myself on being service-minded, flexible, and invested in evidence-based practice so that you get the best possible experience as possible. Let's advocate together for your well-being! Outside of work, I enjoy experiencing different cultures through traveling and spending time with my family.
