About my approach to psychotherapy
While my approach to psychotherapy draws from a broad background, it is primarily psychodynamic in nature.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on the ways our feelings, both conscious and unconscious, influence our thoughts, motivations, and ways of forming and maintaining relationships. Increasing awareness of these aspects of the self and their origins may open the door for new ways of thinking, feeling, coping with stress, and relating to yourself and others.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy may be a helpful approach for those feeling stuck, in repetitive patterns in their relationships, struggling to understand their internal emotional experience, or seeking a deeper self awareness. It may not be well suited for those seeking rapid resolution to a crisis, those desiring focused treatment for a very specific concern (such as fear of flying), or those seeking explicit direction from their therapist.
I encourage you to complete a consultation request form if you are interested in learning more. If I have an opening, I will give you a call to learn more about your interest and to share more about my practice.
Please note, filing out the consultation request form is a request for evaluation and does NOT establish a doctor/patient relationship.
