We Will Figure This Out Together
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, my primary focus is to provide you with my full presence and deep care, these being the core values of nursing. This goal, along with the provision of state-of-the-art psycho-pharmacology offered in an atmosphere of acceptance and compassion, are best achieved, I believe, by working as a team.
As we get to know each other, my desire is to hear you deeply – your past experience, your concerns, worries…and your joys and successes. It is within this alliance that, together, we will discover the best paths forward for you, be they a change in medication or lifestyle, the addition of psychotherapy, meditation or relaxation techniques, or a referral to a specialist for treatments that may fall outside of my areas of expertise.
After graduating from Cornell University, I received a Masters of Science in Nursing from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, in Women’s Health followed by a post-master’s certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). My areas of clinical focus are mood disorders, women’s behavioral health, trauma, ADHD and sleep disorders.
Having practiced women’s health at UCSF for 10-years, I have a particular interest in this area, specifically in reproductive psychiatry, which applies to all persons who have reached sexual maturity, and is inclusive of trans, non-binary and queer individuals. This sub-specialty enables me to focus on several factors – biology, hormones, postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, infertility, low testosterone and menopausal mood changes – as well as how gender roles and societal values influence our behavioral health and sense of well-being.
It would be my pleasure to speak with you regarding any collaborative relationship we may form together. Please feel free to reach out; I’d be pleased to speak with you.
