Current psychiatric nurse practitioners at this practice include Alyssa Killion, MSN, APN, PMHNP-BC and Meghann Alcala, DNP, PMHNP-BC.
Alyssa Killion, MSN, APN, PMHNP-BC: Alyssa is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with over 15 years experience in nursing with over 10 years prescribing experience. She has worked within a wide range of settings (outpatient, inpatient, IOP, PHP, detox/rehab) and with individuals across every spectrum, allowing her to offer a unique perspective on care. She does not get hung up on labels and diagnoses and welcomes all individuals seeking support and direction to her practice.
Alyssa is currently offering psychiatric services to New Jersey residents via telehealth. Appointments with Alyssa are typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays between 9-4:30pm via telehealth.
Meghann Alcala, DNP, APN, PMHNP-BC: Dr. Meghann Alcala is passionate about providing quality, comprehensive, and compassionate patient-centered care. A facet of her therapy style that she takes pride in is treating the person as a whole. Past experiences have given her training geared towards utilizing individualized approaches to further assist diverse populations in coping with personal obstacles through psychiatric evaluations, and medication management sessions with psychotherapy.
Meghann has experience treating a range of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and schizophrenia spectrum disorders. She is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and received her doctoral degree from Rutgers University. Her goal is to assist individuals to achieve the highest quality of life by utilizing their strengths in an environment of warmth, patience, understanding, and trust. She typically sees patients on Fridays 11am-4:30pm. Please note this provider does not prescribe controlled substances or have in person visits.
Steps to making an appointment:
1. Click on "Consultation Request", fill out the form and create a password for your luminello patient portal account. Please note it may take 48-72 hours to hear back from us once submitting this form.
2. Once we review and have accepted your request, we will reach out letting you know you can log into the luminello patient portal. A welcome message will be sent to you in the portal explaining the following:
- complete all required steps (reviewing, understanding and agreeing to our practice policies, no show/late cancellation policies, hippa form, billing/fees outside of insurance, telehealth consent form, and updating your demographic profile)
- complete sign up with Team Headway, the company we work with who accepts insurance for those seeking to use insurance benefits.
3. Appointments are not made until all steps have been completed. Typically appointment wait for a new patient evaluation is 2-4 weeks
